The next stage of your PBL will be to conduct some primary research. You will need to select the best method to suit your topic and also really think about what information you need to find out. I will see you in form, this week, to discuss this further. Good luck!
I am delighted with the work you are doing - keep it up! If you have not posted your rationale, please do so asap. Aside from this, please read and act upon my replies; prepare all of your PBL work and email it to me (one email per group): [email protected] I will then give you specific feedback.
Next, think about how your projects fit in with the real world and society (for some of you this is more obvious). Imagine you are able to speak to an expert or a politician who could make a difference - how would you propose they use your research to make a change. This is really the next level of PBL - applying your work to real life. See how you get on - I will be back working with you in form after half term. Finally, you will all be invited to the formal EPQ/Higher Project presentations (Year 13 and Year 10) , after half term (more details to follow). This will give you an insight as to where your work is heading and what you can achieve. Well done Year 8! Mrs Zeqaj. Your next challenge is to compose a concise, 150 word rationale. This piece of writing will outline your reasons for deciding on your topic, why it is important (try to link with society and the 'real world' and conclude with what you expect to find. Deadline: Friday 26th January. Good Luck!
Also, if anybody would like to support Y7 in their PBL - form time starting this Wednesday (17/1) - come and see me or post here. Mrs Zeqaj If you are interested in supporting Year 7, as they embark on their PBL journey, please let myself or Mr Cubbon know (asap).
I am SO impressed by all of your ideas!
Your next challenge, following our form time lesson tomorrow (Monday 6/11/17), is to post your question suggestions. Think carefully about the wording - the question will make or break your project! Also, as you started to do for the last post, try to comment/respond to other posts and maybe offer some constructive criticism to question design. Try to get posted by Thursday 9/11/17. Good Luck! Mrs Zeqaj A fantastic start to our PBL blog Year 8 - well done!
Continue to think of ideas and on Monday, we will focus on how to create questions. You will be expected to use this blog page to post suggestions, ask questions (to each other, myself or Mr Cubbon) and respond to challenges!
Challenge 1: Post your ideas for PBL topics asap! Good luck! |
