As a high achieving student, at Fazakerley Sixth Form, you will be offered guidance and support specifically aimed to enhance your application for highly competitive university courses at the elite Russell group and research-led universities. We have excellent links with The University of Liverpool and, through the ‘Realising Opportunities’ programme, connections with fifteen of the leading research-led universities across the country. In addition, if you are interested in Oxford or Cambridge, there is a lot of support through our Villiers Park and Cambridge Outreach links.
During your form time, you will study for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Teacher led study will take place during registration time each day and your work will take on an independent nature as you complete the project in your study time. The Extended Project aims to inspire, enthuse and motivate students. It will provide you with the skills that Higher Education institutions look for: transferrable skills such as planning, research, analysis and evaluation. The topic of your EPQ is your choice but should ideally be linked to your plans for further education and career.
To maximise your chances of success, you will be expected to take your studies beyond the classroom, study independently and undertake a variety of enrichment activities linked to your target career pathway.
