EPQ Presentation Day 2016-17
14th December 2016
Our Year 13 EPQ students showcased their work this afternoon. Although nerve-racking, the pupils thoroughly enjoyed presenting their work, to staff and peers, in a 'market style' presentation. Students were required to prepare a portfolio of work including: a 5000 word dissertation, details of time management and evidence of research. The standard of work, for the second year running, is outstanding and we predict some amazing results. EPQ Presentation Day: A Celebration of Hard Work
31st March 2016 A sense of pride filled our school library today, as our Year 13 EPQ students presented their work. After almost two years of hard work, the Y13 EPQ group were able to showcase their outstanding work to staff, their peer group and Y12 EPQ students. In a market style presentation, pupils presented their work with pride and confidence. This is our first cohort of EPQ students and the course has been challenging. Pupils are required to work independently on the production of a substantial piece of work (A2 standard) on a subject of their choice. Most of our students produced a dissertation (of at least 5000 words!) on subjects ranging from: fashion to medical technology. The work is of such a high standard, it could be mistaken for undergraduate level. After a long afternoon of presenting, pupils were tired but felt a real sense of pride: seeing their work come together and experiencing the positive reaction s of their audience. We wish them well with their final results and know that the EPQ has served its purpose in equipping them with a set of transferrable skills invaluable to university study. |
