Our lecture on Friday was simply amazing! I am really looking forward to part two, this week (17th March). Don't forget to look at 'Trio' - it will prepare you for the lecture!

For the final HAPs challenge of the year, we will be taking inspiration from our Blake's London lesson, where we studied the poem from a Marxist perspective. You will become writers; influenced by your society. Sean (Y9) and Sophie (Y8) have started the planning stage of what will be a whole class piece. Initially, we thought about focusing on the upcoming referendum but, after discussion, changed to school politics: the mobile phone ban. As writers, you will reveal your views on this aspect of school life, but not in a direct way - readers of the future will infer these thoughts!
Before the session, you will need to read their plan and think of some ideas to bring along with you! English will be on, this Friday, for Years 7 to 10 (room 24).
Many thanks to Luke and Beth for our second meditation session of the year. A great end to the week - all relaxed for the weekend!
StreetLaw from The University of Liverpool will be delivering a criminal law session on the 22nd April (first Friday after Spring Break). This is an amazing opportunity! Open to Y7-12 HAPs - see Mrs Zeqaj for more details.
After having so many different HAPs classes recently it was great to get the whole group back together for English this week! We had an amazing session trying to order a couple of sentences from 'The Kite Runner' - looking at syntax and word function within a sentence. Well done - particularly to three Year 7 girls - absolutely amazing contribution to the lesson!.
Our next class will be after our spring break (Friday 22nd April). The Neonatal, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society from The University of Liverpool will be delivering a session to our Y10-12 HAPs (girls).
Looking forward to the class tomorrow (3pm-4pm in the library). We will be deconstructing a famous poem and creating our own version! Our first session of the year was just AMAZING! The group pieced together the full narrative of Keats's 'Lamia' - from just a section of the poem! Investigating clues left by the poet linked to ranging from mythology to sibilance. So impressive. |
